Samsung repair
in the Bay Area
Samsung shares the top of our call volume with LG, and one fault dominates the list by a wide margin: the French door ice maker freezing itself solid. It's common enough that we treat it as its own category. The rest of the range is conventional to service, and Samsung's fault codes point us at the right system quickly.

Common failures
What goes wrong on Samsung.
French door ice maker freezes solid
By far the most common Samsung call we take. Frost builds in the ice maker compartment until the auger jams. Chipping it out buys a few weeks — the actual fix addresses the air leak and defrost path that let the frost form.
Fridge stops cooling while the fan still runs
Usually a failed defrost system letting the evaporator coil ice over and block airflow. The unit sounds perfectly normal right up until the food is warm.
Spider arm corrodes on front-load washers
The aluminium spider behind the drum corrodes over years of detergent and water, and the first sign is usually a loud, knocking spin cycle.
Drain pump blocked or failing
Same story as every front-loader: coins and debris reach the pump. Cheap to fix, and the machine reports it clearly.
Dishwasher throws a leak-sensor error
Samsung dishwashers cut off when the base pan sensor trips. Sometimes it resets, but a recurring error means there's a real leak upstream to find.
Control or display panel stops responding
Touch panels above cooking surfaces take on heat and steam for years. We diagnose the specific fault before quoting a whole panel.
How we approach it
What's different about servicing Samsung.
The ice maker fault has a proper fix
It's tempting to just defrost it and move on. We address what let the frost in — seals, air path, defrost operation — because otherwise it's back within the month.
Fault codes narrow it down fast
Samsung reports specific system faults rather than a generic error, which keeps diagnosis short and avoids guesswork.
Parts availability is good
High US volume means common Samsung parts are stocked and affordable, so most repairs finish on the first visit.
Smart features rarely cause the fault
Family Hub screens and app connectivity look complicated but almost never explain a mechanical problem. We check the mechanics first rather than blaming the software.
Model lines we service
RF French door and RS side-by-side refrigerators including Family Hub and Bespoke, WF and WA washers, DVE and DVG dryers, DW dishwashers with StormWash and Linear Wash, NE, NX and NY ranges and cooktops.
Service area
Samsung service across the Bay Area.
Same technicians, same warranty, same pricing rules, from San Francisco down to the South Bay and out to Marin.
Questions
Before you call.
Why does my Samsung ice maker keep freezing up?
It's the single most common Samsung fault we see. Frost gets into the ice maker compartment and jams the mechanism. A proper repair fixes the seal and defrost path that let the frost in, not just the ice that's there today.
My Samsung fridge isn't cooling but the fan is running. What is it?
Usually the defrost system. The evaporator coil ices over and blocks airflow, so the fan runs but moves no cold air. It's a common and very fixable fault.
Is a Samsung washer worth repairing?
For pumps, locks and boots, definitely. A corroded spider arm on an older machine is the point where replacement often makes more sense, and we'll tell you straight when that's the case.
Do you service Family Hub refrigerators?
Yes. The screen almost never causes the actual problem — we diagnose the refrigeration side and treat the smart features separately.
How quickly can you come out for a Samsung repair?
Same-day for most calls placed before early afternoon, with refrigerators prioritized because of food loss.
Do you work on Samsung over-the-range microwaves?
Yes, including the vent and light assemblies that sit in the same unit.
