LG repair
in the Bay Area
LG is one of the two brands we're called out to most in the Bay Area, and its engineering choices cut both ways. The Direct Drive motor removes the belt that fails on other machines, and the linear compressor is genuinely efficient — but both put more of the machine's fate in the hands of electronics and sealed-system parts. The good news is that LG codes its faults clearly, so diagnosis is usually quick.

Common failures
What goes wrong on LG.
Linear compressor stops cooling
LG's linear compressor is efficient but has a known failure history on a range of model years. Many affected units carry extended manufacturer coverage on the sealed system — we check whether yours qualifies before quoting you anything.
French door ice maker jams or stops
Fill tube icing and ejector faults are the most frequent LG refrigerator call after cooling itself. Usually contained to the ice maker assembly rather than the fridge.
Drain pump blocked on front-load washers
Coins and debris get past the filter and stop the pump. It's the cheapest common repair on an LG washer, and it throws an OE code that tells us exactly where to look.
Door boot tears on front-loaders
The rubber bellow flexes every cycle and eventually splits, usually at the bottom where water and debris collect. Left alone it leaks onto the floor.
UE code and a drum that won't balance
The machine is refusing to spin because the load is off-balance or the suspension has worn. Sometimes it's the load, sometimes it's genuinely the shocks — we check before selling parts.
Control board faults after a power event
Bay Area outages and surges take out boards. We diagnose down to the specific fault rather than defaulting to a full board swap.

How we approach it
What's different about servicing LG.
Error codes make diagnosis fast
LG codes faults specifically rather than generically. Reading the code first keeps the visit short and stops us replacing parts the machine has already ruled out.
Direct Drive removes a common failure point
No belt means no belt to snap. When an LG washer won't spin, the cause is usually the pump, the suspension or a sensor rather than a drive component.
Sealed-system coverage is worth checking
Linear compressor models can still be covered by the manufacturer long after the general warranty ends. We look this up rather than letting you pay for a repair someone else owes you.
Parts are widely available
LG volume in the US means most common parts are stocked and cheap, so the majority of repairs finish on the first visit.
Model lines we service
WM and WT washers, DLE and DLG dryers, LDF, LDT and LDP dishwashers, LFXS, LMXS and LRFVS refrigerators including InstaView, LRE and LSE ranges, plus LG Studio built-in equipment.

Questions
Before you call.
My LG fridge stopped cooling. Is it the compressor?
Often, on linear compressor models. Before quoting anything we check whether your unit is still covered by the manufacturer's extended sealed-system warranty — plenty of them are, and that changes the cost entirely.
What does the OE code mean on my LG washer?
It's a drain fault — the machine couldn't empty in time. Usually a blocked pump or filter, and usually one of the least expensive repairs we do.
Is LG worth repairing or should I replace it?
For most single-part failures, repair wins comfortably — LG parts are available and reasonably priced. A sealed-system failure on an older unit is where the maths can flip, and we'll show you both numbers.
Do you service LG dryers, both gas and electric?
Yes, both. Gas connections are handled by technicians licensed for gas appliances and leak-tested before we leave.
How fast can you get to an LG repair?
Same-day in most cases when you call before early afternoon. A refrigerator that's stopped cooling gets priority because of food loss.
Do you work on LG Studio built-in appliances?
Yes, including built-in refrigeration and wall ovens from the LG Studio line.
