Thermostat service
in the Bay Area

A thermostat problem often isn't the thermostat — it's the low-voltage wiring or a blown transformer fuse in the equipment. We test the system before selling you a new device.

Symptoms

What we see most.

If any of this sounds like your unit, the diagnosis is usually straightforward and the repair is same-visit.

Blank screen

Dead batteries, a blown 3-amp fuse on the control board, or a broken common wire.

Temperature reading is wrong

The unit is placed near a heat source or draft, or the internal sensor has drifted. Relocation often beats replacement.

System won't respond to changes

A wiring fault between the thermostat and equipment, or a failed relay at the board.

Smart thermostat keeps going offline

Usually a missing C-wire, which lets the device drain itself and drop off Wi-Fi.

Pricing

Priced after diagnosis, not before.

Parts and labor for thermostat service vary too much by brand and fault to publish a flat rate honestly. A technician diagnoses the issue on site and gives you the exact price in writing — nothing starts until you approve it, and the diagnostic fee is applied to the repair.

Questions

Before you call.

Is a smart thermostat worth it?

For homes with a consistent schedule, the savings are real. For a household that's home all day at a fixed temperature, it mostly buys convenience — we'll say so honestly.

What is a C-wire and do I need one?

It supplies constant power to the thermostat. Most smart models need it, and older Bay Area homes often don't have one. We install an adapter rather than opening walls.

Will a new thermostat work with my system?

Not always — heat pumps, multi-stage and dual-fuel systems have specific requirements. We verify compatibility before ordering anything.
