REFRIGERATION

Frost where it doesn't belong

Ice forming on a refrigerant line near the compressor. Frost that appears at one specific point rather than evenly along the line is a useful clue — it marks where pressure drops sharply, which is exactly what happens downstream of a blockage or a metering fault. We read the frost line together with the gauge readings instead of treating either on its own.
